SwRI scientists use top-of-the-line molecular modeling systems for applying computational methods to aid in understanding protein and ligand interactions and new compound designs.

With more than 20 years of experience in synthesis, medicinal chemistry, and drug development, the Synthesis and Process Chemistry Section of Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) supports our clients' drug development programs from preclinical development through phase II clinical trials.

Research services include:

  • Chemical development, including custom synthesis, process R&D, and radiolabeled synthesis

  • Medicinal chemistry/lead optimization, including computational modeling, analog design, and synthesis

  • Analytical capabilities, including NMR, HPLC, HPLC/MS, GC/MS

The Synthesis and Process Chemistry section is poised to assist clients' drug delivery and formulation needs through intradepartmental collaboration with Microencapsulation experts.
