This fully automated, wide-field inverted microscope supports micro-analysis efforts, including live cell visualization, bacterial visualization and particle detection.

The state-of-the-art equipment and facilities of Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) are housed on more than 1,200 acres in San Antonio. Almost two million square feet of laboratories, offices, and test facilities support work on nearly 2,000 client projects each year. SwRI facilities include:

  • Microscopy (SEM, AFM, Raman, fluorescent, cell culturing)

  • Anechoic chambers (electromagnetic and acoustic)

  • Mechanical test labs (shock, drop, hardness, vibration, wear, fatigue, torsion, compression)

  • Environmental testing facilities (atmospheric pressure, temperature, and humidity)

  • Imaging equipment (optical, thermal, X-ray, ultrasound, etc.)

  • Spectroscopy (HPLC, Raman, mass spec, gas chromatography)

  • Clean rooms

  • Biology labs

  • Chemistry labs

  • Prototype manufacturing facility

  • Machine shops
